So like every one I had a nice dysfunctional family Thanksgiving. Let me start off by setting the scene, it was 8ish in the morning and I asked my older brother Jacob to wake up my younger brother Dillon, so Jacob went into Dillon's room with a pot and spatula in hand and proceeded to bang the pot with the spatula over Dillon's head, when Dillon still did not get up Jacob tried to get him out of bed by literally pulling him out of bed. Well, needless to say this did not please Dillon, so he stormed out of the house with no shoes on (he had on jeans and a hoodie) and it was freezing outside. He kept walking down the street so I called my mom to ask for help and she said to go on to Grandma's and she would find Dillon when she got home. Jacob and I got in the car and not a block down the road I see a cop car pulled over and a police officer talking to my little brother, so I drove up and spoke with the officer and he made Dillon get in the car and it was off to Grandmother's house we went.
Despite all of that I have plenty to be thankful for.
My Grandmother made an amazing meal and I planted myself at the sink doing dishes to try to burn off some of the delicious food I indulged in. It was great to spend time with some of my cousins on my Mom's side. Saturday after Thanksgiving my big sister Maygon and her boyfriend Brian came with me to eat Thanksgiving with my Dad's family.
This is what I am thankful for this year:
I am thankful for the life the Lord has blessed me with, literally life.
I am thankful my Mother and how hard she works to provide for my siblings and I, and how selfless she is.
I am thankful for my family, particularly my older sister Maygon.
I am thankful for my sisters in Phi Mu, especially by big Laura and my best friend Brittany, they are truely amazing and beautiful women I feel so blessed to have in my life.
